Under Construction

Well, after the bottom end of the engine rebuild (455) to install my 71 Cutlass, I decided to begin the body work by first stripping the paint in the hopes of finding no bondo. Well, that just wasnt my luck, and as soon as I got to the metal on the front fender, I ran into a 6x6 patch of body filler. I lost my motivation and put the sander down. I was told by a friend that they sometimes used fuller from the factory to make the body look right. Does anyone have any clarification on this remark, or is he correct in his statement?

There was some factory bondo type filler on mine, original paint, lead on the seams as usual. The stuff was skimmed over some areas, funky brown color and hard to sand off.
