70 442 quarter panel relacement

well, i got a solid builder, all except the passenger quarter that is rotted up to the first lower body line and around the wheel well. my question is has any one ever used a quarter skin from year one(goodmark panel)?

i thought about getting one and cutting our what i need to repair the panel, but i have always replaced quarters and have avoided skins on my chevelles, this is my first olds, and i was amazed that someone out there don't reproduce a full quarter that goes to the trunk, up in the sail and door jamb.

can't complain to much, it is a 70 442 with 18756 miles, that was free hand me down, just sat by a river and has survived flooding and kansas weather for about 20 years, but i wanna get started and i just had the frame sand blasted, and the body soda blasted, and that quarter is stalling my progress, lol. help olds guys, help

The only full quarters available are for the 70-72 convertibles. The other Chinesium panels are only partial and fit poorly at best. If you can afford it, your best bet is good used panels from the southwest. Be sure that they are cut above the roof joint, however.

We put on a Goodmark/Chinese 1/4 on our car. It fit pretty nice and straightened out just fine. We always cut them a little smaller and reuse our front door jam line and below the top ridge of the 1/4. The factory seems and edges are crisper bends.
I do agree with Joe, if you can locate a full rust free 1/4 that would make for a nicer car but if it isn't in the cards, the panels work.

well, the car is mainly going to be a street strip car, and i plan on painting it the original "Butternut" color with the black stripes on the OAI hood, with the yellowish butter color not being high gloss, if anyone has some OEM quarters, or a solid parts car with good quaters, let me know-thanks

I've got a parts car with a nice passenger side quarter panel, but I'm located in Oregon. Where are you? John
