Feather fill G2 question

I am priming my car with the feather fill G2 high build primer, and on their site it says that it doesn't need a sealer before the topcoat. On another forum I was reading where guys were saying it needs a sealer before paint. Does anyone have any info on what way I should go. Thanks

who would know better about the requirements of the product than the manufacturer?

You should probably also approach it from another "angle"...ie...what does the PAINT MANUFACTURER (topcoat) recommend under their paint?????....or what do they PREFER given the options.

It doesn't need to be sealed, assuming that you finish with 600 grit paper(or finer) and don't sand through to expose the metal or filler underneath.

Also, when blocking feather fill, do not sand through it to the under coat of primer or it will "Ring"(Leave a mark where the sand through occurred)

you shouldnt need sealer as long as you sand with 600 or finer and dont cut threw but but i would just for a little insurance on hiding especially if its a dark color

I'm not a fan of feather fill. I've found block sanding large areas of it to be quite a miserable experience. If possible I'd go with a high build urethane primer or a sandable epoxy. Kirker makes a very affordable, sandable epoxy primer.
