I have a post asking what I need to do to drop a 455 into a 73 cutlass supreme. If the guy building the motor can't find a 455 core can I bolt in a 427 or 454? same questions as the other. I know I need to change the trans but do I need to weld different motor mounts or will this motor just drop in?
thanks c.b. |

Yes you can just drop in a 454. The only thing that I had to change so far was the motor brakets on the frame. they are from year one for a 1970 chevelle. I was lucky my transmission was a unibell turbo 350. so far every thing is working out great.

BOP bolt pattern is different that Chevy so the your Olds tranny won't fit the Chevy engine without an adapter.
