Externally a toronodo engine is the same as any other 455. The 455 will fit in your cutlass, however you really should get rid of the TH350 and get a bigger transmission. The 455 out of the toronado has like 450ft lbs of torque. Your TH350 wont last long with a figure like that. I personally havent done the swap, but lots of people on here have, im sure someone will be able to tell you what you need.

Yup, it'll fit no problem...
Just get your motor mounts paired up right... Big block frame mounts...big block motor mounts. Small block frame mounts...small block motor mounts. (Joe sent me a engine mount pdf years back...he's excellent with this) And although a TH350 could hold up with the right mods, a stock one will eventually loose the war. Don't expect the toro exhaust manifolds to work either... And I believe the toro pan holds a qt. of oil more. |

Everything above is correct. You'll need a RWD starter (or swap the nose and starter drive from your old one onto the high torque Toro starter), A-body manifolds or headers, and correct motor mounts. Also, some of the Toro accessory brackets are different from RWD brackets, but your 350 brackets will bolt to the 455 as the brackets have two sets of holes. One subtlety is that the water pump must match the pulleys and brackets, as the A/C pump is longer than the non-A/C pump. Also, be aware of the spacers on between the PS pump bracket and the block.
As for the motor mounts, DO NOT buy "455" mounts. Just reuse the 350 mounts. These will bolt to the 455 (use the rear two of the three holes on each side of the block) and it will sit at the right height when mated to the 350 frame mounts in your car. Don't worry about the notched valve covers, you don't need them.

The 1970 Toro motors were factory rated at 375-400 HP and 500-510 ft-lbs of torque. How a 455 in a Toro, with a less radical cam, more restrictive exhaust, and E vs F heads could produce more HP and torque than a 1970 W-30 remains one of the great marketing mysteries of our time. It's also why many of us here don't pay a lot of attention to factory HP ratings.

Joe, were the 70 toro intakes the sunken design?
My 67 toro motor had a really low carb pad... like almost at the same heigh as the manifold bolts. |

Yes, they were. While not correct for an A-body, it doesn't need to be changed for the engine to work in that chassis.
