Thermostat
on my 65 olds dynamic 88 425 motor. did they have thermostats for the water on these back then. or is that what the water temp sensor is for on the intake manifold. i thought there would be a thermostat under the water neck but there is not. thanks chris

Yes there should be a thermostat there....I recommend a 160 or 180 thermostat for your car.

makes since then. guy told me since its a convertable and wont be driven in the winter to just leave the thermostat out that the car would run cooler anyway. sound about right. chris

There are lots of "guys" who say that. Unfortunately, any engine built since the early 1950s is DESIGNED to operate with a thermostat. Put one in.
