part # for 455 water pump
I have the wrong pump on my 455, pulleys dont match up, need to know how to track down the part # for a 1976 olds 455... i believe i need the one with the longer neck. thanks

It has air conditioning? Cardone (one of the better off-the-shelf models) 55-21118. For heavy duty, add an 'H' to the end of it. You can get 'em at Auto Zone.

its possible at some point the motor did have a/c but i no longer have that bracket or compressor as I purchased the motor from an add in the paper and it was sitting on a stand. ...where I live there are no auto zones. im candian. we only have canadian tire, napa and carquest. but ill see what i can dig up. thanks for the help

if I remember correctly, all the motors were set up for A/C but whether the motor came with the unit or not is anyones guess.

Yogi,
There were 2 different water pumps (long and short snout) and two different pullets (3 versus 2 groove) for A/C and non-A/C cars. C.J.

hey guys, I got my pump situation resolved. I found one with the longer neck. I actually have both sets of pully's the a/c and non a/c and niether work unless you have the right water pump with the correct neck length.
