how much hp and torque

1968 455 f block punched .40 over making it a 462 i believe. The motor has 10.1 comp trw forged pistons,a comp cams extreme energy 284 duration advertised 286/296/at .50 inch lift 240/246 541/544 lift.Had a new std.crank and clevite bearings. Also had the big valve c heads rebuilt port and polished. The trans is a turbo 350 rebuilt with shift kit and a midwest 3000 to 3200 stall convertor.Thr rear end is a eaton posi 410 and the frame and control arms have been boxed so if any one knows a estimate of the hp and torque would help before she is all back together just in case i need to change something thanks.

It sounds like a great motor. I don't think I would change a thing. I have seen Olds 455's run really strong with less camshaft than you have. When a guy starts talking HP there is alot of room for speculation. A day at the dyno would tell you the real numbers. I saw a simiar Olds engine with head work like yours in a 70 Buick GS run high 11's 20 years ago. The head work may vary the numbers but I would say 450 to 500 HP and probably 500 or more on the torque. I am using the WAG method to determine the numbers. WAG=Wild *** guess.

Depending on jetting, ignition curve, unknown porting, baseline 250 cfm heads, unknown exhaust system.....not yet moving, but flashing the converter...I'd say 4700 lbs/ft of torque, in 1st gear-at the tires.
Converter, trans, and axle eats 25% of what it makes, anyway.

Get some aftermarket axles for the 8.5 rear (it IS an 8.5, isn't it?) before you throw sticky tires on it.

ET is the ONLY # that matters, now.
HP is a # for the ego only. Don't worry about that.
JMO,
Jim

Maybe as much as 475-490 HP and above 500 lbs ft of torque with headers, depending on intake, carb, & ignition. You might wish for 1 sz smaller cam since this one will make peak power spinning a little higher than you could comfortably go with this crank. But with all that torque who cares. Should be sweet!

At 4700 ft.lbs, he will have a tough time sticking the tires!

I agree, ET is the only real number.

My only advice to you is to watch that oil pressure. As I have been told, Olds likes to push all the oil up in the heads and starve the bottom end when you run a low gear like you are. Just watch that oil pressure. I have restrictors in my motor as well as a crank scraper and I run 75-90 on the gauge all the time. Other than that HANG ON SON!

Edelbrock Performer intakes run a little better than crosswinds.
The polished crosswind looks cooler, though it's 2 tenths slower in the 1/4 mile.

Talking

Wow...bunch of cam!!! Should run well into the 11's with the right tires!! When you run, get an exact weight on your car then use the formula with your known miles per hour at the end of the 1/4 mile to calculate Horsepower.

When ya want to really go fast I'll build you a Q-jet!!
