Just picked up a '62 Dynamic 88 2DR HT.
Can't seem to find much info on the motor ID number stamped into the left head(F413331). I'm sure this is the stock motor and that it is a 394, it has a 2bl. carb so it's a choise of compression ratio/HP. As far as I can tell you could order 3 394's in this car in '62 1 Base 394 Rocket 2bl carb low 8.x:1 compsression 260HP 2 Sky-Rocket 394 2bl carb 10.x:1 280HP 3 SKy-Rocket 394 4bl carb 10.x:1 330 HP As far as I gather the Compression ratio was changed by using pistons with smaller "cups" on top. Also, the intake and carb on the 4bl seem to be the only change here. Can anyone provide any info on the 61-63 Sky-Rocket V8's. Thanks, James |
