Hello everyone. I am in need of help, it's hot and I need to know where the air conditioning orfice tube is located at on my 2001 alero. I was told that it was clogged:confused up and that's why my system couldn't be recharged. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Terence |

There are two lines that connect to your condenser (in front of the radiator). The lower line comes out of the condenser and goes back to the evaporator core on the firewall. Your orifice tube is located inside the line at this lower connection.

If the orifice tube is clogged, you have more problems than a plugged o-tube. The stuff that is plugging it had to come from somewhere, That somewhere is the compressor. The compressor is dead or dying. You have a DV-5 compressor IIRC.
The orifice is located in the line between the condenser and the evaporator. On GM cars it's usually in the evaporator inlet tube. |
