62 F-85 Cutlass Convertible

We are starting our project car. My son and I are in the process of dismantling this Corvair style vehicle. We will be taking in for sandblasting in a few months and then the real fun begins- I will try to post pictures in a week or so. Any insights into this vehicle will be greatly appreciated. We found this vehicle in a private wrecking yard in Northern California. After chewing the owner down to $700 we have our project. We loaded the vehicle in 104 degree heat, while the owner and his two sons drank MGD and spat everywhere. We brought it home and cleaned all the wasps nests out. We have only had one week, but progress is on its way- It is motorless and trans less. We will always be in the market for the 215 if anyone knows where there is one. I saw where e-bay had a couple and the Range Rovers used them for a long time. I have already put a couple of threads in other forums and have had great responses. In 1983 I had a 1964 Olds F-85 towed into my driveway from my neighbor as he was sick of having it runless in his garage. His son was the drummer for a band in Portland, OR at the time- Seafood Mama, later called Quaterflash and his son would load up his complete drumset in the back of this 64 and head off to Portland and play gigs. I only had to rebuild the 330 and Jetaway to get it on the road, I had to sell to my brother, who in turn did a complete, down to metal paint job on the vehicle. He had to later sell it, and I think it is still running around the streets of Longview, WA. Once again this will be my first complete restoration, any insights would be greatly apporeciated for the 1962 Olds Cutlass Supreme F-85 convertible......Doug and Dalton

Welcome. Be sure and post some pictures when you can. Everybody here loves pictures. It seems we see fewer post on these cars than almost anythng here. Probably because there are fewer of them. Neat cars and great to see a father/son project. Sounds like you know what to do with it.
