IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT!!! A stock 455 will boil the tires in a G body....other than careful assembly with right clearances, anything but 'J' heads, and a mild cam.....a edlbrock manifold a set of headers and someone to set up your Q-jet...good to go....I had a 71 455 2bbl out of a Delta, mild cam about .500 with 290 or so duration aluminum intake and headers (stock rockers shimmed) ....after a guy set up the carb and hei it was installed in my 78 LeMans and a 8.5 3.08 rear with turbo 400......super fun on street and 22mpg......VERY low buck...don't over build for a street car...you'll be chasing each change forever and spend too much money...just my aged but humble bit of wit
