72 and 78 cutlass squeek on passenger side
72 and 78 cutlass squeek on passenger side
I used to have a 78 cutlass and I now have a 72 cutlass. Both of them developed a loud squeek on the passenger side front end. Has anyone had this issue? What would I need to do to fix it? I'm not well informed in the suspension area of the car. Any info would be appreciated!
Try jacking the car up and placing a good jack-stand under the corner for safety and then move the suspension around some, jiggling the wheel, etc. I would guess it would be a bushing on the shock or the tie rod end or something similar.
Yeah, like everyone else said, it could be anything...I had a squeak in the front of my 69 Cutlass that turned out be the upper control arm bushings. Front end squeaks/clunks/moans/groans can be difficult to track down. Put it up on jackstands and start moving things around.
Hi. A quick fix for a loud squeek on the passenger side of any car is to leave the wife at home when you go crus'in. LOL. Just kidding. If you haven't already found the problem yet, be more descriptive on when it happens. (constant, turning, braking, etc.) Suspensions are my thing. (so my friends tell me). Let us know if you fixed it. It may help others seeing what you found. Thanks, Jim
