Looks like it's going to be impossible to buy a new part for my 69 Olds Cutlass.That would be a simple Chrome Trim part that runs down from the PS roof from the Front of the roof to the back window.This part is okay CONDITION but has some dings from some numnut hitting it with a Hammer. Does anyone know where I can send this thing and have it fixed. Thanks. If this topice is in the wrong place please move it Mods with my appreciation!

 

Are you talking about the drip rail molding? I'm not sure what piece you're talking about unless you have a post car, and you're talking about the trim around the door windows.

In any event, I'm guessing the piece you have is stainless steel and should be fixable by someone who does polishing. It would help if we knew where you lived in order to give out recommendations, unless you want to send it out.

It's the Red 1969 in the picture and yeah It's the drip rail on the passenger side.Looks like someone tried to bend it or shap it back with a Hammer to keep the end from comming off at the rear by the back window.I live in Tampa Florida. Thanks for any and all Help.

They're not reproducted for the '68-69. The Parts Place has reconditioned sets, but they're not cheap. Part # XP4483T. You have to send them your old ones as cores. Otherwise it's an additional $75.

If I were you, I'd find a good stainless trim polisher/reconditioner near you. Provided it's not completely destroyed, he should be able to rework it back into shape and polish it.

Just be careful when removing it. I like to place a few layers of masking tape over it. Then, I get an old style bottle opener and use the notch designed to grip the side of a can to gently pry it off. Works quite well.

68Tom-thanks for the suggestions but my area is a waste land for that kind of classic car work and the guys who use to do it. Looks like I'll have to send it out and about. The part is actually in pretty good shape but has some Hammer tap marks where someone tried to repair it as I said. Damn I can't believe how hard it is now to get anything done now a days.
