67 442 Cowl Tag
There is only one way to tell if its a true 442 because 442 was not its own model in 67 if you look at the cowl tag if the first 3 numbers are 338 that stands for a Cutlass V-8 ( the 8 in the number stands for 8 cylinder ) ( there were only 2 V-8"s made that year for the Cutlass 350 & 400 ) the 400 was the 442 engine..the next thing is check the engine right in front of the thermostat housing there will be a number if the number starts with 39 and ends with E that is a 400 engine after that you can check the numbers to the body to see if its a matching number car ...if the first 3 numbers are
333 / 334 / 335 or 336 then your car cannot be a 442
