Olds Rochester Carb.

Olds Rochester Carb.

I have a Rochester Carb. with the number29251 RJ on it followed by 3418. I was woundering if anyone could tell what engine this Carb. came on.

29251 (also 7029251) is a 1969 carb. It was used on the 69 Hurst Olds, and I think on other applications as well.

3418 should be a date code, produced on the 341st day of 1968, if I remember correctly.

It's also used on the '69 4-4-2, auto transmission. Sometimes these carbs had the entire 7029251 number written on them; sometimes they just had the 29251, with the two letter broadcast code (RJ) and the date code. This carb is indeed dated the 341st day of 1968 and it is an original carb. Service replacement carbs would have the same part number (7029251) plus a date code and no broadcast code. And the date would most likely be after the 1968 production year.
