Looking for Help on wheel/tire size

Hi all --

Newbie here, need to see if anyone's tried this wheel/tire setup before I order from Coker --

Car is a '66 Cutlass convertible with stock drums and suspension. Currently has original wheels and 215/75/14s.

Looking to keep outer diameter roughly the same and go with 15" wheels. So, it looks like a 245/60/15 tire will keep the revs/mile about the same. But, these tires need an 8" wheel, so I'd go with the repro SS1 15 x 8 with a 5" backspace.

Does anyone have experience with this combination? Will it work? Also, does anyone know if the 15 x 8 repro SS1 will work with a disc brake setup if I decide to do that later?

Thanks.

Welcome. The 8" wheels are good; 7" would probably be acceptable. The repro SSI wheels will clear the FACTORY disk brakes with the 10.75" rotors and the factory caliper brackets. All bets are off for aftermarket brake kits.
