which plug wires should i use with headers

ok i have a 87 cutlass i just put all new exhaust with headers on it. does anybody know which plug wires i can get that wont touch the headers. ive bought three sets and they all still touch. someone told me to try accels bc they have a 90 degree boot but ive already tried 90 degree boots and still the same.

Some wires like MSD and Moroso have bendable straight ends. MSD makes a heat shielding sleeve. You can cut a length of it to slip over the spark plug end and shield it from header heat.

the heat shield only withstands 900 degrees. and i cant use the straight ends because some of my plugs sit directly behing the header tubes. i have to use a 90 degree boot. i guess i could just by some header wrap but i hate to have to take the headers back off again bc it is a pain to get them on.

I would use silicone sheathed wires, I think I got mine from napa when I stuffed a small block in an s10. used headers on it, had no problems and ran it as a daily driver 100 miles a day commute. I think I got a cut them yourself type kit .

This usually isn't a problem with Olds engines since the spark plugs are above the exhaust ports. I assume you're talking about a "corporate" engine here?
