Detroit hotel recommendation

As I know some of you head to the Woodward cruise each summer or actually live in or near Detroit, could you please recommend a nice, nearby hotel where I can feel safe parking my car overnight? For instance, do any have parking garages, etc?

Thanks for the help.

68Tom I can't give you any advice about places to stay but I will say this - Be prepared for the worst traffic nightmare you can ever imagine. Seventeen miles of 6-lane boulevard lined with a million cars and 4 million people. It takes all day to travel the 17 miles and that is no bull. Lots of nice cars if you can get to see them.

Dont stay anywhere near the city of Detroit. The cruise is in Oakland Co, Woodward north of 8 mile. Find a place in Oakland Co, but not near 8 mile. The best time to cruise is the two weeks before the actual day. Come a week early if you can.

I'm actually going to be there the end of June, so about 4 weeks before the official cruise (I think). Does stuff happen all summer there on a particular night (not as big of course, but that's better imho)?

The closer it gets to the cruise the more cars are out there. By that weekend its bumper to bumper.

The Detroit area has cruises every night of the week. So many you cant make them all. Every side of town has countless cruise nights. So youll find something. Sundays at Bakers of Milford is one of the biggest cruises in the states.
