It is a true 442 which is designated by the 344 in the VIN. The only way to tell if it is a real W-30 is paperwork. Look in the back seat springs, under the carpet, inside the door panels a sail panels, in the headliner, under the dash, above the gas tank, etc. You need to find the broadcast sheet and/or build sheet to confirm the W-30 authenticity. Column shift was always an option with automatics. Good luck with the car!
