A5 intake manifold

Yesterday I visited someone that had a few Oldsmobile items for sale and purchased a really cool original metal fan shroud for the '46 project (I hate to see my fingers flying away some day while I am tuning the car). Anyway he also has an Oldsmobile A4 intake manifold for sale. It has an EGR valve boss on it so I figure it is for a late 70s or early 80s 350. He was asking $25 for it and I was going to buy it but for two things. Only had enough money for the shroud and I noticed it had a damaged hole on the driver's side thermostat housing bolt hole. It looks like someone had drilled out a small 1/8 inch or smaller hole off to one side of the threads, perhaps to get a bolt out. It can probably be repaired but anyway. Does anyone have an interest in it? If so I will go back and buy it.
On a side note, he had a really nice '52 Pontiac (that is what the shroud came off of). He is also a member of the HAMB website forums. It was nice to talk to someone with similar interests. He also has some other stuff from the '52 that he didn't use. Flathead six engine, carb, air cleaner, some modern Dynomax style mufflers, two '62 Cadillac bullet style tail lights (reproductions he thinks), set of modern shocks, on and on. If I can find the link again I will refer you to the Craig's list sale he has posted. I will pick anything up if anyone is interested in anything.

A4's are 307 intakes. They save in weight, and that's about it. $25 is a decent price for a nice one in my opinion, but a damaged one, I wouldn't bite on.

Is it an A4 or an A5? The subject line says one thing, the text another.

The A4 is an aluminum 307 intake that will bolt to other SBOs. It's a good replacement for a stock cast iron since they usually go for $25 or so, but it only flows as well as stock. The A5 is designed with small ports to mate to the 7A heads on the roller cam 307s and as such is not a good choice for other SBOs.
