Frame VIN stamp.

I have a 68' 442 and I'm trying to find the VIN stamp on the frame. I was told this:

"When I had the frame off last year on my 70, I tried to get pic's of the frame stamping, but before sandblastng it was too crusty? and after powdercoating, too shiny and reflective. There is one about at the drivers knees/thighs on the DS outboard side of the frame near the top and one again on the DS outboard side of the frame near the top where the rear pass behind would be, just before the frame turns up to go over the rear diff. I think DaveH said there is one also on the rear of the frame, but it wasn't as good of a stamping, because there wasn't ample opposing force to make the stamp as well as the sides. I couldn't find the rear one on mine. As said before, there is a very clear stamp at the DS rear of the frame from the frame MFG, but I don't know if it tells you much or if anyone knows how to decode it."

My frame is actually in good shape and I should be able to see something. Has anyone seen this VIN stamp without doing a frame off. If so where exactly did you find it? Where these stamps put in diferent locations on the car each year? If you have a 68' 442 and know were these are PLEASE let me know.

Thanks, Dan

Mine was on the rear vertical tray in between the rear springs. It's an 85 though so it may be of no help to you.
I circled it in orange.

I was told it is on the outside passenger side front frame fork in the area of the front wheel. I have not tore that part of my car down yet so I cant say for sure. If you find it let me know where it is. My car is a 68 442 convertible.

Every 68-72 frame I've seen has a VIN derivative stamp on the top if the LH frame rail behind the rear wheel.
