New to the forum, 1985 442 Question.

This is my first post here. A good friend of mine recently passed away and his family has asked me to finish assembling his '85 442. The car has a good body and fresh paint. the interior is currently gutted but everything is there.

My question is what are these cars worth. The family wants to spin it once I get it back together.

Thanks.

I've said this time and again: don't confuse asking price and selling price. Check "Completed Auctions" on ebay. You'll find that most of the high-dollar cars are usually not sold - reserve not met. As for Craigslist, I see the same cars show up week after week after week.

The ones that go for decent money are low milage, pampered cars that never seen much day-lite. These cars are money pits so one has to "love" them for what they are, and not to make money. I always say one is LUCKY to get back $.50 on every dollar one puts into an Olds and labor is free. That said, it always is better to start with a 442 or a convertible if all things are equal. It is only worth what someone will pay. Good uck, Ken
