Newbie Hello

Just purchased 1970 442 convertible. The car has numbers matching motor and trans. The car is (48) sherwood green with green interior and a white top.
Car is an automatic with floor shifter. It is a non oai car.
I have a few questions about this car.

1 Car has white "deadblocks" painted on hood but not on trunk, is this correct?

2 Car has white pinstripping on the top of the car and green molding on the bottom of car following lower body line. Is this correct?

I have searched online and all the pics I could find are of 1970 442 convertibles with Ram air hoods and w30 packages.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome!

Unlike the many Chevy's you have seen, the Rallye stripes on the hood of your car did not ever extend to the trunk lid. Just not generally an Oldsmobile thing, although the 69 Hurst Olds does have a single wide stripe on the top of the car and the trunk.

The body side stripes and the lower beltiline molding you describe I am not sure about, but someone else will weigh in shortly.

Might help when we have pictures to review for those items as well.

Eric

yea sorry to get your hopes up. I think when they added my powers they forgot to pust a botton. I can get to the right place and change it but it defaults back to newbie.

The whole 5 posts thing is to make sure people come here to talk about cars. We had a very bad problem with porn spam up until a few months ago.

What would the correct side stripes be for 1970 442 convertible ? Not w30.
