Got my new 442

Well, I finally go my 68 442 convertible. Safron yellow with white top and interior. Doesn't have a motor, but I am came accross a 455 deal i can't pass up. Thought about trying to find an original type 400, which I did find a couple, but since it will never be numbers matching, and this 455 deal came around, that's the route I am going to take.
I hope to be able to pick everyone's brains as I proceed on my project to resurect her back to life.
here are a few pictures when I picked it up.

Looks like a great find - first order of business should be to get rid of those Corvette wheels!!! LOL!

I agree...the corvette wheels must go. I want to get a set of ralley's. That's on my list. Not one tire is the same size either. But I have other fish to fry first. Going to pick up a motor tomorrow. I have been gathering parts to get started. I will keep you all posted on the progess.

Hallo!

Ich lebe in Idar-Oberstein (RLP). Wo kommst Du her?

Sorry, guys, but since I live in Germany & there are almost no Oldsmobiles here, I'd really like to hook up w/ this guy to compare notes & maybe meet. Don't mean to steal the thread!

Ralph

Looks like you intend to keep it pretty much stock. I tend to agree- the early 442s in good original condition are getting all too scarce!
Agree about the rims too- again for the reason above.

Ralph, hover your pointer over his name and click on it, then a dropdown menu will show up giving you the option to send a private message (PM) or email him. That may be the easiest way to reach him. Good Luck, meeting another Olds guy in Germany would be an amazing thing!

Thanks for the tip- should have thought of it myself! Not like I'm a complete stranger to forums!
