Back with good news!?

Hi guys,
sorry for the long long offline time....
Ive worked 3 months in france, and now ive worked in the netherlands....
so a half year was gone......

Ive looked to a parts car or something like that but i couldnt find anything .-...
My 71 "crashed supreme" was laying around in the garage....

So 1 week ago i found something for me and i decided to buy a 1967 Cutlass Supreme in Crystal Blue with black Vinyl Top and Black Interiour.

It was a hard decision, but i want an olds back again!

The Frame of my 71 arent fixable cause both frame horns on the front end were bent so i have no chance here in germany...

So here are some Pics of my new Project:

Let me know what you thiink!?
Greets from Germany

Thanks for your reply guys!!!!!!!

Im happy to be at home, too. (My Girlfriend as well;-.))))

Hmm, my plans are : Complete resto of the frame, Suspension and Disc Brakes on the front and rear, and maybe a new paintjob.....

My 455 .40 over is still layin around and waiting to scream the first time....
Transmission i think its a Jetaway?!?! 2spd. I Think i will put in my 500mls TH350 Tranny if it fits?!??! Ive read something about swapping the JUNKAWAY to a 350/400 but dont know, yet.

With the engine/tranny swap i later need your help for sure.....

But with my 71 i really dont know what to do with it....
I dont want to sell it for about 2500$ to any dealer who dont care about the car .....

Thanks guys !!!
Im very glad to have you guys around!!!!

As you can never really straighten out a badly bent frame I would replace it with a convertible frame as it is boxed ...

Last time I did this I was looking for a month when I foound a donor car w/ a front clip ...

I almost didn't check out the donor car as it was so cheap $200. I was going to ask the seller why he was selling it when I saw his wife looking around a corner....

I didn't jap him down and I removed the hulk right then. When I get a deal like that I try to make it as painless as I can ...

The new Olds looks cool, maybe add four wheel discs and an anchor? You have to be able to stop as fast as that idiot that cut you off before. When everybody had the same brakes "back in the day" it all evened out.
I must visit Germany someday, one of my ancestors was a Hessian mercenary soldier in the American Revolution, stayed here after the war so it's been awhile.
I've seen a few clean 'vert frames on Craigslist lately, so they fit the hard tops?
That would be a pretty easy R and R fix and you could make a good buck if you sold it....... how much with shipping to 44023?

Yes they do same year to same year ...

While it's apart box the rear frame . I used to put a trailer hitch in, Pull the racer to the strip and run the "Tow" car also ...

Pretty good idea racing both cars, what happens if you come up against yourself in eliminations?

The Vista frame is boxed too, but it would be a little long on one end for a two door.

Hi,

i thought about changing the frame, too.!!!!!
But i must pay at least 3000 $ only for shipping to germany plus the other parts i need.

My 71 is a sleeping beauty for now. I will bring her back to road again in a few years for sure!!.

Last year i got a in memory of tattoo that i wont hide from you all.
I hope you like it?!?
sorry for the quality!

Next week i think the 67 will arive me and i can send you more detailed pics.
Thanks for your help again.!!!!!

I've researched this and you want to run a taller spindle as it totally changes the geometry from mediocre at best to very good ...

The suspension of Old 442s' can use the beefy spindles from a 1976 TransAm, re-tapered to fit the lower balljoint, increasing stability and handlingYou can replace the swaybars, front (1.25-inch) and rear (1-inch).

I usually get all the associated hardware and rebuild with factory kits ...

Calipers and rotors can be cheapl;y replaced if the donor car has chewed them up ...

Question

hi,

I must change the frame on my 71 and thats what i always want to do. (no one can fix it right, in germany)

With the disc conversion; i want a complete new system and dont use any old parts, same to the suspension.... I must stop faster than any MB AMG

These are the only 2 complete systems i found. E*ay and OPGI. 920$ and 1199$ . Has everyone mounted some of the 4wheel disc conversion.????

i have another 2 questions, does anybody know what kind of housing or part under the dash is mounted ( over the parking brake release)

and the second one, what switch is mounted left of the cutlass supreme emblem in the middle of the dash??? I checked this on google and the only thing i found was the convertible top switch, but i have a hardtop

Thanks for your help!

I would have to say on picture 1 # that it would be rear defog switch is missing and picture 2 # I`m thinking trailer brake as well.

The control over the parking brake looks like a brake controller for the electric brakes on a trailer

That's what I thought, but I didn't see that many trailers in Europe. Most on the ones I saw were tiny and wouldn't need brakes. They looked like a motorcycle side car being pulled behind a car.

I must say this is a california car and has left the container in Bremerhaven(germany) 2 days ago .... Today it arrives Augsburg (120miles away) On Saturday i can tell you what this part is.... we will inspect it ;-)
I cant wait to see it live !

It could be a trailer brake unit and maybe a Prop Valve Adj. ;-)
I had such a "thing" mounted in my 71 from the first owner....

What rear Axle`s, 1967 was available or standard in Cutlass Supreme Cars
Any Ideas??

Just wondering, since 3 months i get this message, any time ive logged in :

While you were gone we set up a Newbie section to prevent spam. It may have you as a newbie when you're not. Others will fix it I'm sure.
