what are the casting #'s of the block/heads? That'll reveal whether it's an early or late block. The earlier blocks are rumored to be stronger. Also, the earlier heads are supposed to flow better - i.e. #5, #6, #7, or #7A heads. Basically, the heads of a '69-'72 Olds 350. Punch it 30 over, add hyperutectic pistons, do a mild street port job on a set of #5 heads (add bigger 2.00/1.62 valves), bump your compression to about 9.1, add roller tip rockers, and install a nice torque cam & light the tires and have fun!
