front to rear brakeline
front to rear brakeline
does anyone know where i can buy front to rear brakelines for a 71 cutlass 4dr. everywhere i look either doesnt carry them or they say i will have to get them custom bent for like 300 to 400 which is way to much.
The simplest and easiest way is to buy the straight line in whatever length needed, and use the original as your template for bending the new one to fit properly in the hold-down clips, and follow the frame. If you can't match the exact length, buy it longer, then cut down to size and re-flare it. You can buy the flaring kits pretty reasonable, just practice flaring on some extra line before hand. It's actually quite easy.

Amazingly, I can't even find a listing for a Chevelle 4dr or wagon (which would be the same). As you have probably realized, 4dr cars are not as popular and parts suppliers don't thing there's enough market. The primary difference is the 4" longer wheelbase (116" for the 4dr vs 112" for the 2dr). One option is to buy the 2dr lines, cut them in the middle, flare the ends, and add a short straight section. Also, try calling Inline Tube. If they feel there is enough of a market for a tube they do not currently carry, they will use your original line as a pattern and will give you the first production part for free for your trouble.
What I usually do is try and do it in 2 pieces....get a long one from the parts store and a shorter one that together will make up roughly to what you need. You buy a flare connector/coupling to join the 2 pieces together. Although not looking as original from underneath its much easier to install than fighting with a 1 piece line and no reflaring is required.
FOUND: Front to rear brake line
I KNEW there was one out there. Right Stuff Detailing (www.getdiscbrakes.com) lists PN CIN7104 as the front-to-rear brakeline for a 71-72 Chevelle 4dr. Note that while the do not list one for a Cutlass 4dr, the 2dr Chevelle and 2dr Cutlass both use PN CIN7131. While there's no guarantee, I've got $10 that says CIN7104 fits you 4dr Cutlass.
By the way, they also list the front-to-back main fuel line for the 4dr as GCL7104. Unfortunately, the do not list a return or vent line for that application. Good luck.
