CHECK OUT THIS AUCTION AND TELL ME IF THE GUY IS FULL OF IT. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS CAR BUT I'M MORE INTO THE 68-69 CARS. THIS IS WHAT HIS ADD ON EBAY SAYS. ULTRA RARE 70 OLDS 455-SX CONVERTIBLE ONLY A HANDFULL OF THESE MUSCLE CARS WERE EVER BUILT THESE WERE MEANT TO BE 442 MUSCLE CAR STREET SLEEPERS THEY HAD THE BIG BLOCK ENGINE LIKE A 442 THE SAME FRONT AND REAR SWAYBAR SUSPENSION AS A 442 AND THE SAME DUAL EXHAUST WITH THE CUTOUT BUMPER

SX convertible

Well... I don't agree with all the words he used to describe this car but they did make a model called the SX. Yes they had the FEII suspension and rear bumper cut outs for exhaust trumpets. Also most I've seen had 2bbl 455 setups. The console in the pictures is a 67-69 console which is incorrect for 1970. Yes it is collectable but I have no idea what the value on it would be. So it may be a factory SX convertible but I would approach it a little skeptical and look it over real close before laying down lots of cash. My 2 cents worth. John

I asked almost the same question a while back, maybe soon I'll fall into a pile of money big enough to buy / register / insure ANOTHER car.

After #8 the 'ol lady started making weird noises and twitching oddly whenever the subject comes up.

Heres a link

It's unfortunately very easy to fake an SX, so documentation is critical. A cursory glance at the photos shows the wrong console (noted above), and a later block casting (note the serif "F"). The heads are correct for a 70. The Chevy blue paint also indicates that this motor has been out at least once. The car has obviously been repainted and the emblems removed, so without pulling the fenders you can't tell if it originally had "SX" emblems or not. The loose ends also indicate that a lot of work will be required to put this car back together.

There are enough questions about the car that you'd have a hard time justifying the price without a lot of supporting documentation.

from what i see, that car has to be worth about 5 or 6 grand. in my opinion once someone screws a car up it's a whole bunch more work to make it right. at least thats what the pictures tell me.
