Thumbs down Buyer beware

I have heard more than a few local people that took their alternators to be tested at Autozone and all have failed. This bothered me a lot. Could everyone I talked to possibly have failed? I doubt it. So today I took a perfectly good alternator that I know works great and had them test it. It FAILED. I told the guy to test it again just in case, and it FAILED again. He asked me annoyedly if I wanted a 3rd test and of course I said "Hey , why not?"
FAILED the 3rd time too. He then offered me a $90 reman. to replace it. I of course declined and went on my merry way. On the way home I stopped by the new Advance Auto Parts store and had them test it for me. 1st try the guy said, "It's pushing 15 volts, works just fine" I happily thanked him and bought a case of oil.

It could be a faulty machine or a sales clerk that doesn't know how to use it correctly, may not be done on purpose. Although, if I was the manager or assistant manager at a store and every alternator that was check on my machine "failed" or every one that was checked by a particular employee "failed" I would look into it.

You should go back one more time same guy re test then have him test his off the shelf .Then if he says any thing tell him your from CNN news! chanel ? & Ask to speak to the manager. I have heard the same stories about a free check engine light test & start selling parts. I always clear my customers codes free & send them on there way, If it comes back on same then do some investagiting

I would get the manager to test it and if it still fails id give him hell and tell him to shove it, Then id call the law or some sort of person that can do something about it.
There are all ready too many bastards out there to rip people off.

I hope you're not one of the two guys who left him pos feedback

The same kinds of idiots send fragile radio parts with no packing.

PS eBay has recently fixed it so a seller cant retaliate against a
neg feedback, so buyers can now tell the truth without fear.

I'm not gonna leave any until this matter is dealt with properly.
Everyone does something stupid now and then, so I am leaving an opportunity to correct the mistake, although they will probably just be a jerk.

Here we have a new NAPA store I was in the day the got there new ALT tester it does take some knowledge to use it.we got to test it on one while I was there & also tested the one out of the box to compare. Major difference in results ,The customers was definetly bad

I meant the ebay feedback

As far as the A.Z. store goes, I'm not going to do anything.
Waste of time trying to tell a profitable superchain how to do business.

I went to Auto Zone for a price check on an 02 sensor for my Delta, and the woman cocked her eyebrow a little and said "a what?"

I went up the road to Shucks and went in and talked to my buddy Andy and said the same thing and he immediatly said "Before or after Catalyst?"

shrug.
