350 heads

I recently purchased a Olds 350 and turbo 350 from a salvage yard. The motor came out of a 1976 cutlass. I belive it ran, however I planned to tear down and rebuild. Upon tearing down I have found that this engine has been rebuit before( bored .030, rod bearings are .010 and mains are .020 over) Cyclinder walls look excellent. I plan on installing new rings, bearings and a Eldlebrock Performer cam 37112 and possibly a Eldlebrock Performer intake 37111. ( I am trying to achieve about 300 hp)

Upon taking the heads off I noticed that some of cooling ports of the cyclinder block do not line up with heads ( some completely blocked off by headgasket) Is this unusual ?? What other suggestions do anyone have to achive the 300 hp. I am not planning on racing , just want a little more power for the 1988 Cutlass Spreame Classic than the tired 307 offers.

I planned on initially hooking it to the stock 200 4 r until I can get extra$$ to go thru the turbo 350 I bought. How will this combination work out ( i belive the 200 4 hr has the computer controlled lock up torque converter)???
