Cathy, you posted this question on the wrong site. You might want to go to a Chevy site. But anyway, there might be a lot of reasons the truck is overheating. Low coolant, leaking coolant, no coolant additive, bad radiator, faulty electric fan (if equipped), faulty/no mechanical fan, etc......A little more info might help. If you happen to go to a different site and post this question include some more info.
