Hello to all

I am new to this forum. My wife and I have a '62 Olds Starfire Coupe that we bought just this past spring. We also have a '57 Buick Century Riviera that we bought at the same time. When we go on outings with both of the classic cars, the Olds is what the wife drives and I drive the Buick. I get to work on and be the mechanic for both (no surprise there). Both cars are mostly original, other than the paint jobs, although they were repainted to their original color.

G'day from the Land of OZ.
Lovely cars but wondering.....when you and the wife take both the cars out....do you head in different directions? Just want to see how this works. If the answer is yes I might buy the missus and old Ford or something..

Well, most of the time we tend to go in the same direction, but occasionally we wander off on our own. She belongs to an all female classic car club, and they do their thing some. I tend to take the car(s) out more than the wife does. I do strongly recommend getting the missus one to enjoy. It alleviates a lot of the nagging that most car guys have to put up with.

An "all female classic club" ??? That's unheard of! I can imagine what would happen if we started a male only classic club. We'd be male chauvenist pigs, discriminatory and probably dragged through court and made to admit female members.
That said, if they allow male partners to join them on their jaunts, they'd be doing the driving which means we can drink and control the music.
Not such a bad idea after all.
Sounds like you've got a good balance there. Important to realise that we blokes aren't the only ones who need an interest and something to throw money at. If the better half shares the passion then that's fantastic. Mine doesn't, but she has her horses which cost more than the Olds and consume more time so if anyone should be nagging it's me......but who listens. Cheers !

First- I'm drooling all over myself about the Starfire! Not anything against the Buick, but.....
Secondly, if I could only get my wife interested! She's kinda/sorta accepted I'm a car nut, but she holds on to the opinion that cars are transportation. PERIOD! I mean, when we got married, she got the Camaro brand new. It's now 17 yrs old, 58K miles & in virtually perfect shape! She likes to drive it, but otherwise.....
I should have such luck!

In our "connection" it`s quite the contraryClaudia bought the first Spitfire, the 67 Mustang, the 90 Mustang and the Olds on her own
She spends ages on the screen to browse for more information about those cars. She explained the whole US-Car Regulars `Table the mode of operation about the thermostat opening temperature and the different cooling circuits.Claudia is able to explain the differential to a newbie I think she got the max. Olds gear lash in her mind
When people ask me about her vehikles i please them to pepper my walking library with any questionsShe loves and enjoys those situations.
Welcome to the both of you!
