I just got the body work completed on my 72 olds cutlass. All rust was cut out and replaced with sheet metal. It cost me a pretty penny but I wanted it done right. Now im getting closer to getting it painted, and I can't decide what color to paint it. Damn ! I never knew picking a color would be so hard. The original color is flame orange, I like orange but it's not really for me. Does anyone here know of a website where it shows a 72 cutlass in various color choices? Below is a picture of what my olds looks like now. Right now Im kinda leaning towards a dark blue with silver stripes. What do ya'll think about a dark blue?

You might want to check the car photos at 442.com for some ideas. If you like blue, how about the bright blue metallic on the newer Saturns? Just don't use the Dodge truck bright blue - everyone has it now.

 

If your'e not going with a stock color, than whatever YOU like seems to be the right choice. I've always been partial to blue myself. I think it would look good on that body style.(My 2 cents)

consider the interior color too. If it is black you have lots of choices.

 

Get the viking blue with the 2 white stripes down the middle of the hood..and back end!! Same color as the one in the NEW Hitcher if you have seen it...1970 442 olds in there

Very nice car, WasteOfMind! All the suggestions people have said are great, but I'd have to agree with black interior and paint. That'll look badass.
