Front brakes are easy if you want stock 10.75" rotors:

I just put a set of front disc on my 70 convertible. I'm still in the process of reworking/painting it so I haven't actually tried them out yet. I got them at one of the Carlisle Pa. car shows. WWW.Getdiscbrakes.com
Kit includes everything you need. They went on easy as pie, no glitches, no surprises. Went with just a stock type. I spoke with several/lots of car people about front and rear disc. Everyone converting front only are more than happy with the stopping power they got out of them. I got new brake lines too. They come pre-bent but be prepared to wrestle with them. If the whole job took 4 hours, 3 was wrestling the tubes.
Be careful when compressing those spring.

A new conversion being used is the rear discs from an 98/99 Olds Bravada, Chevy Blazer or GMC Jimmy. The bolt pattern of the backing plates lines up perfectly with the bolt pattern on the flange of the 8.5 rear. There is a small amount of machining (grinding or cutting of the backing plate) required to get the axle to seat, and you will also have to swipe some rear hose brackets from a doner F body.. ones that clamp to the axle I beleive.

Now what I do NOT recall is if the 2WD or the 4WD parts are more desireable. One setup puts the calipers toward the front of the vehicle and the other puts the calipers at the rear... From looking at them in my hands, it LOOKS like you can swap them side to side to put the calipers where you want them. But I can't verify this until I mock them up on my axle. Hard parts for this conversion are on the cheap right now if you know where to look, and the "consumable" parts are available at any parts store.

Joe,

All your links are dead. www.partsamerica.com (previously the Advance Auto Parts Group website) is now www.advanceautoparts.com. They sold off all of the west coast conglomerate (Kragen, Schucks) to O'Rielly's

But good info otherwise. Can we use that over on the other site?

Sure, in fact I've probably posted this link on your site. I'll go back and update the links. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm pretty sure that classicperfomance parts makes a nice kit for your application. They're releatively inexpensive and come with everything you need from the master cylinder, power brake booster, all hard lines, correct proportioning valve, etc. They also completely assemble it for you for a very small fee which is so worth it. I think the website is classicperform.com I just bought a front disc conversion kit for my 68 cutlass and I had them assemble it for me and everything seems to be very high quality. It came packaged nicely and I'm anxious to bolt that sucker on. I'll let you know how it goes.

Oh and by the way, they make a complete front to rear disc brake conversion completely assembled for around $1200 with absolutely everything you need all the way down to the wheel bearings being packed and installed and everything. The hardlines bent, the line for the emergency brake, etc. Check them out. Their part catalog is impressive too. There was a good write up on this kit in muclecar power mag or something like that.
