Anyone got used tires for 15X7 SS2 or other rims and tires ?

I am not worried about how old they are within reason , let me worry about that . The car will not be driven on the freeway , and will only be out and about here and there , not going very far either ..... or any other rim size ideas with tires , cragars , SS1 , SS2 , or whatever . I would even be possibly interested in 14 " rims if there are tires to go with it , and I can pick - up . I need SOMETHING this spring so I can drive the damn car . I really don't want to buy new tires for the lame stock skinny rims , so please help me .

Come on down. I have a set of 4 red ones and 85% tread left on the tires.

225/75/r15 Kelly Celebrity Tires. They've been around forever. Here's an ad from 1958. Of course the tires I have are not from 1958. More like 2005. According to the ad, these tires will aid you in your quest to prevent mowing over school children with your vehicle.

Bryan? Chicago isn't all that far from you.. only 90 miles. Probably cheaper to drive down and just pick them up.... and say hi to Joe. You buick should get at least 25mpg so gas shouldn't be much more than 40 bucks. That's a quick morning trip.

That's what I was going to do , take a drive there .... at the moment I was on craigslist trying to find tires for J(Chicago)'s rims to replace the skinny 75's that are on there . I was possibly looking for some used P225-60-15 for the back or taller , and some 70's for the front . Do you think P205's will work , or do you think they are to low ? I can't seem to find anything taller then P205's .... IIRC P205's look ok , I just noticed that most of you guys have at least P225's

BTW - I think the Buick only gets about 17 MPG

Don't you mean 255 70 15's ? 25's are a bit big . I kind of need 4 rims though , but would definetely be interested in the tires possibly if they are not on the rims of course . I should have my tax check any day now , so i'll see what plays out here

I like it.The steering would probably feel funny for the first few days while you adjusted. Let me know the scoop/plan, and if you need anything.

I have 6 14" rallyes, and 4 15" rallyes here.
2 14" are bolt on centers, and the rest are snap on.

Bryan, the 205 or 225 or 255 refers to the tread width and the 60/70/75 refers to the height (or aspect ratio) of the tire in relation to tread width? I run 225/70/14 because it's a decently wide tire that still has similar height to the G70/14 that was optional for the car and standard on the 442? The tires on your CS would be F78/14 originally. So when you do the calculation of what size tire you want you need to also think about how much it will throw out the speedo. Your wheel and tire size will = a diameter that affects speedo and odometer (and possibly speeding tickets?)

17mpg?? That's all? My 1995 98 Regency Elite averaged 18 city/ 27 highway - no lead foot - just normal driving for a fairly heavy car. 3800 series II non turbo and over 200K miles on it. Sometimes on the highway it would get better than 30 mpg (cruise set at 65 mph).

I guess I don't know beans about tires either Thanks for sharing that . I'll have to go to the tire store to get an idea what I want for the back . The fronts will do just fine . I may as well share the story on this reply .... I went by J(Chicago)'s today and bought the rims and tires . I only made two wrong turns and had to call him like 6 times before I finally got there . I think I told him on the phone before I left that I was a delivery driver and wouldn't have any problems finding it lol . I also got to check out his current project he is working on . I never had to pay that many tolls in my life put together then I had to that day . I think it all added up to be about $20 to $25 all together , including the one I had to pay twice because I went the wrong way and had to turn around . There was a few guys doing well over 100mph on my way back , weaving in and out of traffic at the same time . People sure do drive crazy in IL . I joined the club on the way back , and never went any less then 15 or 20 over the speed limit . I thought I would never get home . I also had to skip an unmaned toll both because I didn't have change , so I will have to send it online according to the sign on the toll booth . My muffler partially fell off on the way back too , and now the Buick is noisy ( it never ends ) Well I'm off to the basement to clean the rims up the rest of the way , and cover up the white wall tires with some dull black paint until I can some different tires on the back . I'm going to sand blast and paint the rims this summer , and I will need two beauty rings and one snap on center cap .

Thanks again Jeremy .
