Rims for 68 cutlass
Hi All,
I am looking to purchase some 15x7 repro ss1's or cragar rims for my 68 cutlass. I just wanted to confirm that this is the proper bolt pattern: 5x4.75" with 4 1/8" backspacing. From what I read this size with 235/60/15 tires should fit with the stock power drum brakes or disc conversion brakes.
Thanks, Joe

The will work great but if you are going to run a 60 series tire I would run a 255 in back or all the way around if you want them to match front and rear. 235-60 just look lost on the back of these cars.

Thanks Richard, I am concerned about the 255 being a bit to big for a stock set up. I am guessing stock would be similar to a 215-70-14. If that is close a 235-60-15 looks similar diameter wise. If I step up to a 245-60-15 do you think they would fit without any clearance or rubbing issues?

I am running 255/60/15 on 15x7 rims on the rear of my 69 and have run them on the front also with no issues at all. Look very well. I also have factory disc brakes up front. These new Mickey Thompson st radials are really nice tires too.

Thanks everyone for your input, I ended up getting a great deal on a set of 245-60-15 Radial T/A's. Now just need to decide what rims to put them on. I believe the original dog dish caps are the ones currently on it.
