72 cutlass S tires
I have a 72 Cutlass S convertible. We're wearing the factory SS2 rims and need to find the right 14 inch tire.
There is a lot of discussion in the search results, but most seem to have 15 inch or higher shoes installed.
I've been running 225-70-14s, she had 245-60-14s when I got her in the mid 90s.
Here is my setup.
Recommendations appreciated.

Both those sizes are still available. Most are moving to 15" because there is a greater amount of tires available. Here is a list of BFG TA sizes:

Go, cheap, I bet you can bald a set of tires quickly. I have had 235/60R14, 245/60R14, 205/70R14, 205/75R14, 215/75R14 and 225/70R14 tires. I like taller tires on the back, the 70 series does fit wider wheel wells better. I currently have 205/70R14 BFG TA front and 225/70R14 BFG TA rear on the 70S. I have 205/75R14 and 215/75R14 tires on my 88 Cutlass. The sknner tires look Ok on it, too narrow on the 70.

Thanks Guys,
225-70 on the 14s it is.
I'm gonna go for the Tire Kingdom Brand, Grand Prix. They have white letters and the 225-70 14s are 75 each.
We have a pair on my wife's 77 vette. We really like them, but we only drive it on nice days with the T-tops off.
classicoldsmobile.com is awesome.

225/70-14s are the closest match to the original tires and are the largest diameter 14" tires you can buy today without spending big bucks on repros. The 245/60-14s are about an inch smaller in diameter and leave a lot of daylight in the wheel well in my opinion. The width difference is only about 3/4".
