Wheel fitment

Read on here proper backspace for the front is 4.5". How about the rear? 67 Cutlass, btw, looking at torque thrust 17x8 in front w/ 225/50/17 and 17x9.5 rear w/ 255/50/17. 2" drop. This is what has been recommended for the look I'm going for, wanted to put it out here for yea or nay. Thanks

Wish I could have a pile of wheels to try. Then I thought, why not make a mock up with an adjustable center like in a piece of sonatube or an old bucket. Hmmm.

You cannot specify backspacing without also specifying width. The factory 14x6 wheels had about 3.25" backspace. The factory 14x7 and 15x7 wheels had about 3.75" backspace. In both cases, that's zero offset, which is what matters.
