Wheels & Tires
Newbie here. Looking to put new wheels on my 72. Want to put 18's all around but a little wider in the back. Its a fastback style so I would like the rears wide enough to fill in the rear fender but without any rubbing of such. Also plan to top it off with maybe a 1 in. 1.3in drop to give it a nice stance. Advice for tire size would be much appreciated also. Thanks!

I moved your post to the wheel and tire section. Welcome to the site, there are a few 18-19" wheel and tire combo's in this thread.

My suggestion, I would go with 15" rims all around with 225/70-15 in front and 255/60-15 out back to help fill out the fender wells. The slightly taller rear tires will give it a period stance look without changing the factory suspension, without sacrificing ride or worrying about pot holes, speed bumps, and other similar road conditions.
FYI
225 70 15s are 27.4" tall
255 60 15s are 27.0" tall
The rear tires that you suggested are SHORTER than the fronts.

Oops, thanks Dave for the correction. I was thinking about the 275/60-15 tires in the back, which I believe are taller then the 225/70-15. From what others have noted, they fit without rubbing the rear fender wells.
