No Darrell....I do plan on a mild PT build for it once the other projects are done. It will be coming off the frame, full suspension mods and upgrades. Was considering an LS swap, but I think I will be saving that for a Studebaker I'm looking out for. It will be getting this.....

....with some "mild" work done of course! I want it to look like it was born in the engine bay.....it will be painted the same blue, same air cleaner and it will be keeping the Toro pie pan!

Yes John, I have it sitting on a stand....complete aircleaner to oilpan! I picked it up at Hershey a couple years ago.......

Cool! Kinda the sleeper idea. That would make your wagon way more fun to drive. I can picture the suprised look on someone driving a rice burner as your wagon leaps off the line between lights

No Rob, just the pics when I went to look at the car. I did a lot to it over the summer, as far as detailing and mechanical. In the spring I will get some pics and post up!

The interior is all original except the headliner. The car just turned 60k original miles this past summer. I got the headliner from OPGI. I found this car not far from me after putting out some feelers that I was looking for a '67 VC. A guy said he knew a guy with one in his garage. After 2 mos of bothering 1 guy to get the other guy's number, I finally was able to make the call. The car turned out to be a '65. I wanted it anyway, when I saw it, and bought it on the spot. Deal was, the guy I bought it from owns a junkyard in Brooklyn. He saw this car on the back of a wrecker, in line, waiting to go to the shredder. He ran out before it made it in(was going into a neighboring junkyard), and asked the driver if he had paperwork for it. When the guy said yes, he bought it on the spot. The car had PA system speakers screwed to the roof, and bumper stickers for some campaign all over the car. All the emblems were gone, taken of carelessly with a screw driver. What couldn't be taken off, was covered in electrical tape. The windows had blue tint on both sides.
The junkyard owner took the car and parked it in the corner of the yard. After a few months, covered in mud, he decided to get the car ready to take home. He had his lot guys use razor blades to scrape the stickers off, resulting in scratches every where, unscrewed the speakers, and sent it to the body shop to weld the holes in the roof. They welded the holes, splattered burns all over the windshield, and caught the headliner on fire. So that explains the headliner. The bows were also gone, so I made my own. Long story short, the guys wife refused to ride in it, because she said it looks like a hearse. That's how I was able to buy it....took my a month to get all the tint off both sides of all the windows......

Wow Erik, some story on that Vista! I got to play with a gold '65 with power accessories, in 1973. It had a roof leak, and water sloshing around in the back floor. ( It was at a used car dealer, who knows where it ended up. The '65 Buick equivalent was at a lot here last year, with a hideous two tone job and missing roof rack, as well as the original steering wheel. Hate to think of where that went too.

Very cool...love it. I just picked up a '65 Vista Cruiser from the original owner. Needs a few things, but DD quality right now. I am looking at getting Torq-thrusts just like yours. What size, backspacing, etc? I love THAT look on yours, and would like to replicate it.

darn! too bad...im in SoCal! I would be all over those. ...although, I did just have a set of race wheels/slicks for my race car shipped from Ohio. That was about $225 for shipping. What are you looking to get for the set?

have you ever changed the coil springs on your 65 v/c? do you have a source or know the size of the top and btoom coil spring insulators?

Rod, I have never changed the springs. As far as I know, the isolators are the same as a cutlass. The shocks are heavier on a vista. I am not positive on the springs though. I would have to look it up.
