5x5 to 5x4.75
I need to change my front rotors to a 5 x 4.75 pattern. Is there a rotor that will pop in or is there a rotor and spindle combo that will work? The car is a 1987 Olds Custom Cruiser Wagon.
I drilled out my rear drums and axles to get there, that was relatively easy but the front rotors have stand offs in the way.
Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Um, a 1987 Custom Cruiser IS a B-body...
The car has 12" rotors. Use the rotors from a third gen Camaro with the 1LE brake package. These 12" rotors slip right onto the B-body spindles using the same wheel bearings as the Custom Cruiser and have a 5 x 4.75" bolt circle. Raybestos P/N 5994PR is one such rotor. $59 each from RockAuto.
If you're doing this to install SSIII wheels, I cannot say for certain that the SSIIIs will clear the 12" brakes. I'm contemplating doing exactly this swap on my 84 Custom Cruiser for that reason.

Thanks, Joe!
I'll see it that works. I have a set Weld Racing Pro Stars to put on.
Redog: I was thinking the same thing. The bearing size is different between the wagons and sedans, there very well could be a difference in the Spindle.

Actually, the bolt pattern (and wheel bearing) difference is a function of HD brakes or standard brakes. Sedans with the HD brakes (all Ninety Eights and Eighty Eights with the police/taxi package or the 403) also came with the large bolt pattern and larger wheel bearings. All wagons got the large brakes.

I just had a crazy thought for my build. Instead of going nuts to find a 5 x 4.75 rear axle for a performance upgrade, just swap the bigger B Body wagon spindle and brakes on the front end
Also to need 16" wheels to clear 12 inch brakes or a large offset 15" wheels. I did a 11.9" rotor upgrade on my Alero and the stock 16" wheels just barely clear (2000 Impala rotors with 2000 Camaro double piston calipers)

I went with 1/2" studs that are 3" long due to the Rims I'm using and they don't give those away but regular length studs are pretty reasonable.

Unfortunately, from the factory the cars with the small bolt pattern came with 11" rotors. You do NOT want to put smaller brakes on that Custom Cruiser. That's why the 1LE rotors are a nice solution.
You cannot make this sort of sweeping generalization. The Custom Cruisers with factory 12" rotors use 15" wheels. More importantly, not all 15" wheels are created equally. Since the SSII/III wheels use the same center stamping on the 14" and 15" versions, the rim part of the 15" Super Stock wheels drops down more to reach this center stamping than do the rims of most 15" wheels, so the 15" versions provide only marginally more clearance for calipers than the 14" versions. Other 15" wheels clear with no problems. This is the reason for my comment. I have not personally tried the SSII/III wheels on my Custom Cruiser with the 1LE rotors yet.
