1988 Custom Cruiser
I hope I’m in the right place, I know a 1988 isn’t exactly classic, but it is almost exactly the same as the car I grew up in (late 70s model I think). It has a 400 small block with Hooker Headers and chrome pipes, and is in overall good shape.
I’ve replaced the window belt moldings, but I’m having trouble with one of the window guides. The front passenger door doesn’t look to be the original door, it is a different color underneath the interior panel, so that is my guess anyway. I bought some Doorman brand window guides from Advance, they seem to be the only ones that I can find anywhere. They look like what’s left of the one on the driver’s side window, but they won’t snap onto the glass because the glass is too thick for them to shut tight enough. They also seem to be offset too far off the edge of the glass to let the glass fit squarely in the door frame. I have managed to get the guide barely on the glass and into the channel track, but the fit isn’t right and the glass jams up and falls out when I operate the up and down switch.
If anyone can tell me what I need I would appreciate it.
