Replacement Air Cleaner

Hi all,

I am looking to replace the massive breadpan air cleaner in my 76 CC for an open unit, what will be the best size before it hits the hood, 14x3 or 14x4?

Thanks all!

If you use a 14 x 4 in your existing housing, then you'll get better airflow due to the 1/2-3/4 inch exposed filter area because of the increased height. Should fit under that massive hood. It's a good compromise between airflow and factory appearance.

Doesn't answer your question...but, this YouTube video (Air Filter Horsepower Shootout) is an eye opener.

Hehe yes I noticed that episode, subscribed to everything Motor Trend.
With the standard Q-Jet would that be with a drop base or flat base?

Could always modify the existing air cleaner by adding another snorkel. I did that to my '75 Laguna S-3. Who knows how much (or, little) it does to enhance performance...but, it looks cool (IMO)... and, to the uninformed, looks factory stock. Lol!
