The tranny on my 56 88 appears to be leaking from the tail shaft. What could it be and what kind of a job is it to fix? Thank you in advance.

Although not familiar with this particular year tranny, I do know that most will have a lip seal at the tail of the tranny where the driveshaft enters. If this is worn you will have a leak. It's not particularly hard to replace, but every vehicle is different.

Thanks Sporty. I checked it out but that seal is for the Super 88 I have an 88 3 sp. I'll see if it's the same.
