If that car is solid and mechanicals are good, seems like a bargain basement price, no? Maybe one of those "too good to be true" listings.

I've been following that car for a while and wondering the same thing. Perhaps it looks better on paper than in real life, that sometimes happens. I hope the resale hasn't dropped that much a few years ago it wasn't to unusual to see a good convertible go for sixty , seventy thousand at a auction, lately the few that go up for sale seem to move at about forty five thousand..... In the late 1970s, my mother's grandparents gave my father their 1955 88 convertible that was in need of restoration. My dad spent the next few years restoring it from the ground up- he planned on keeping it forever. Then life happened - two more kids came along and the need for a larger home was inevitable. The 88 was sold to remodel a home for his family. In 1986 a dentist from California flew to South Dakota and drove away in my dads 88. Fast forward to 2014 - my cousin stumbles across the above-mentioned Craigslist post. That is my dad's car. ...And it is now on its way home to South Dakota. After visiting with the owner and a short time of deliberation, I had no choice but to bring it home. My dad, although young, is suffering from Parkinson's disease and emphysema, I can't wait to add a little joy to his days in having the 88 back home. As the post mentioned, this is an older restoration and it isn't perfect. It is going directly to the paint booth for a shot of green, plus a new top, new shocks and some TLC, before it gets delivered to my dad. I am ecstatic and can't wait to have it home! I think I'm getting a pretty good deal, but it probably wouldn't matter either way- the sentimental value is more then money can buy.

PS. I was just in South Dakota 3 days ago with my 55 vert. If yours is anything like mine people will love your ride; plan on doubling the time ti takes to go to the market.... Have fun with your ride with your dad....Tedd
