Windshield didn't pass inspection update

The last of my accident repair was the windshield, shop called me the day before yesterday and they reported that they found some delamination in the new windshield, this is after it was installed of course. So back the car will go to the shop but probably not till after we get back from our road trip. It's a shame someone couldn't use this windshield for a driver car the imperfection is so small that unless it's pointed out you would never see it, I almost let it go but I had fears that it might get worse as time goes on. I'm going to ask if they don't destroy it on removal if I can do something with it. It may come up for sale cheep ,or I might just keep it seems I go through a lot of windshields(this will be # five) Anyway That should be the last time the car sees the shop for a while.....Everyone have a fun, safe holiday....Tedd

That sounds a little fishy to me. I hope THEY are paying for the replacement.

And the delaminations's do get larger as they expand and contract due to heat and the sun breaking down the exposed resin.

I'm glad the car is at least back in shape and one the road.

That was one terrible problem.

Nice to know it worked out.

Yep, the next one is on them. They actually have been a super shop to deal with and probably could have passed that windshield off on me without me knowing the defect is that small....Tedd

Delamination is a major problem with older windsheilds. Glad the windsheild guys are working with you!
