1940 60 rear axle mounts
Im looking for some who may have replaced thier rear axle/suspension w/ a newer set-up. The rear axle "mounts" that I have are seperated & crumbling. There are 4 parts, that cusion the U bolt which attaches to the axle. I've called Steele Rubber, Fusicks, & Then & now.
Here's a pic from the parts book, in the album.

Does't need to be new or NOS, just usable.
Thanks,
Jim

Mine are starting to crumble too.. its one of the many things on my vehicle wish list. (how many women request car parts for birthday and anniversart) If you find a source, let me know..I'm still compiling my source list for parts...I would really prefer to keep this baby as original as possible

I used this product on my 48 Olds. I also converted to a 9" ford rear end. I see no reason why this setup can't be used with a stock or other rearend

Look up the superslide chevy rear end kits for the one best suited to your year of car. The chevy kit fits the Olds as well

If yours is a lot like a chevy - then check out the website "chevs of the forties" . He will have them if chevy is same or close. I've gotten lots of that kind of little stuff for my 42 Olds from him. Hes a swell guy to deal with too!! He'd rather 'talk" to you on phone than "type" to you! I also have a friend that is rodding a 42 sedan and has removed all that rear suspension stuff. dont know if he has gotten rid of it yet or not.
If you can determine that a 42 model 60 is same stuff you need, let me know and I will contact him for you.
thanks

I have some of these. I was sorting thru a 40 year collection of 39 parts that I purchased last winter. I believe there were some NOS and some good used I don't remember how many there were.PM me.
