the old girl gets new paint!
Didn't take long for my father to whip the car I gave him into shape.
He got a bunch of different quotes. Everything from a quick scuff and spray to a complete tear down and restore.
In the end he decided he wants to enjoy the car as a driver and not some trailer queen, so he opted for replacing the rocker panels, and repairing the few rust spots with some new steel, and then smooth out the years of bumps and bruises. It was then show it base/clear.
The guy removed all the trim and even spent an entire evening making new clips to replace many missing and busted ones.
Total cost? $2500
I can't wait to see it in person !

I seem to recall him saying the paint costs were just over $400 (included in the $2500)
Gotta love cheap labor , especially when the laborer is passionate about his work!
The shop that was going to do a body off resto gave a quote of $7000.
He didn't want to be without the car that long though!
