I am currently working on restoring my 55 Olds 98 and while installing my suspension, I noticed there was gas leaking from the middle driver's side of my car. Upon further review, I noticed that the fuel line had a rubber hose about 2 inches long connecting the lines together. So the question I have.....Is there a pre-bent fuel line that I can buy or will I have to take the measurements and buy a universal fuel line and bend it to fit my car? I have searched for fuel lines and cannot find anything.

Try trublu442 he is parting out a couple 54-55's and may have a unspliced part you could reuse or build something new to those specks. I can't remember if they were 88's or 98's though. Ah, my text disappeared when I added the photos. This is a series of photos of the fuel line from fuel pump back to the gas tank. Its in two segments attached with a fitting behind the drivers door. This is the chassis from a 1954 Olds 88 two door hardtop. This looks like the same route/setup as a 1955 Olds 88 4 door frame I've got. Does this look similar to the one on your 1955 Olds 98? John

Good pictures John. Just a thought but the connection on picture #11 looks like it would be a good place to add the extra length needed to stretch the line for the difference between a 88 to a 98. The front and back of the two models are the same only the length of the frame is different..... Tedd

That fuel line looks to be in great shape! Could you PM me the price shipped to me. I'm in no rush, so if it will take you some time to take it off, that's perfectly fine. I believe you still have my address. Thanks.....again!



Thanks for chiming in Ted. That's actually good to know about the difference in length. I have a dumb question though. What would be the best way to extend that line? Use a universal line and then cut to size? This will be my first time messing with a fuel line for me so definitely in-experienced with this sort of thing.

In my area I have a shop that does repair or builds on farm equipment and could / would just make a duplicated ended extension. You would probably need to give them a very close measurement extension but this shouldn't be a hard job for a shop that works in hydraulics..... Tedd

I'll get it taken apart and figure out how to package it up. Do you want the entire length or just the piece from the fuel pump to the connection? I suspect the weight of the box to be more than the part, but the length might put it into oversized so I'll let you know how much shipping will add to the costs. John

Hi 2blu, I apologize for getting back to ya late here in my reply. I would say from the fuel pump to the connector should do the trick since the middle of the fuel line is where it was cut. Almost worried they will mess it up delivering it. Fingers crossed.
